LTG (Ret.) Robert Donahue - Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining By Light, LTG (Ret.) Donahue served as Senior Vice President and Client Industry Executive for Business Development. In this capacity, Bob was responsible for overall management of EDS’ relationship with the U.S. Army, DFAS, DISA, the Army Personnel Community, the Army National Guard, and various Staff Activities within the Pentagon. Bob also served on the EDS CEO staff supporting the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. While on active Duty, Bob served as the Deputy Director of NATO Communications and Information Systems Agency (NATO C3), Commanding General of the U.S. Army Signal School, Director of the Joint Tactical Communications Office, and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Information Management.

Bob Donahue - President & Founder
Bob Donahue, Jr. is President and Founder of By Light. Bob’s in-depth expertise in the Government Telecommunication Sector has been the driving force behind the rapid growth of the company. Prior to starting By Light, Bob served as an active Duty Army Officer with extensive real world experience in both tactical and strategic communication units. His last assignment was as Program Manager for the DISN Expansion Program (DEP) at DISA, delivering critical infrastructure to the Department of Defense. Bob has an M.S. in Telecommunications and a B.S. in Computer Science. Military qualifications include the Master Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab.

Mike Bowser - Senior Vice President
Mike has been developing and delivering DWDM, SONET, ATM and IP solutions to the Federal Government for more than 14 years. Prior to joining By Light, Mike served as Vice President of Federal Systems for LAMBDA Opticalsystems where he focused on 3D MEMS based all-optical-switching and metro DWDM platforms. He also led worldwide sales efforts at Acorn Networks, a semiconductor manufacturer specializing in OC-192 traffic shaping and hardware-based QoS solutions.  Mike has also served as a Global Account Manager for Fore Systems/Marconi where he directed all aspects of the USAF sales territory. Prior to Fore Systems, Mike held engineering management positions with DynCorp and Harris Corporation. He holds B.S. degrees in Computer Engineering and Business Administration and is a distinguished graduate of the Defense Language University.

Don Cole - Senior Vice President, DISA
Don joined By Light in 2004 and serves as Senior Vice President of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) programs. With an extensive background in the telecommunications arena of more than 35 years in the areas of management and business development, Don has led multiple large-scale telecommunications projects for billion-dollar industry leaders. Before By Light, Don held various key positions at AT&T in sales, marketing, and program management. Under his leadership, AT&T successfully implemented high technology programs with the Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, and foreign governments. Following AT&T, Don joined Qwest Communications Government Systems as Senior Director of DoD Programs, where he played a critical role in the development of  Qwest’s defense market  and provided leadership and management for all project activities supporting the Defense Department. In addition, he established and managed the Qwest team supporting the National Coordinating Center for Telecommunications (NCC)  and the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC). Don holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.

Lucy Donahue - Senior Vice President, Federal Healthcare
Lucy Donahue, Senior Vice President, is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and execution of the Federal Healthcare vertical at By Light, including leading the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) $12 billion prime contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. With more than 20 years of technology and business experience, Ms. Donahue leverages real world expertise from the Federal Healthcare, Department of Defense, and commercial sectors. Prior to By Light, Ms. Donahue delivered profitable growth for Cisco Systems in Federal Healthcare and the Department of Defense, playing a significant role in Cisco’s partnerships with customers and industry organizations to enable the Government to complete its mission to protect, defend, and serve the nation. Ms. Donahue holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

COL (Ret.) Rod Phillips, PMP, SSBB - Vice President, U.S. Army Territory
Rod served more than 29 years in Army positions that required mission-critical telecommunications solutions  at tactical, operational, and strategic levels, and supported worldwide joint and special operation requirements. Prior to joining By Light, he served as the Chief Information Officer/G6 for 1st Corps at Fort Lewis, WA.  He was directly responsible for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4ISR) design, deployment, and integration of signal resources for 1st  Corps throughout the Pacific Region. In this role, he led the procurement, operation, management, and systems-of-systems interface for joint and combined communication networks in support of foreign internal defense, peace keeping, direct actions, and humanitarian operations. His By Light responsibilities include project management roles with AMC, AGC, DARPA, and special programs.

John D. South - Chief Financial Officer
John joined By Light in 2006. John has held several executive and senior-level finance positions with telecommunications companies, namely TeleCorp PCS (former AT&T Wireless affiliate) and the U.S. unit of Cable & Wireless. John began his career in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick and Laventhol. John is a CPA with a Master’s Degree in Taxation from American University and a B.S. in Accounting from University of Maryland.

COL (Ret.) Robert (Bob) T. Bell, Jr. - Vice President, Space and Missile Defense Systems
Bob joined By Light in 2010, and has 31 years of Department of Defense experience developing and managing multi-discipline and diverse organizations in both the corporate world and within the U.S. Army. Before By Light, Bob supported government customers at Redstone Arsenal Alabama Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM), the Program Executive Office Command, Control, and Communications Tactical (PEO C3T), the Army Materiel Command (AMC), the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC), and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Bob is a native of North Alabama and served 26 years in the Army Signal Corps achieving the rank of Colonel.
